Subject of data protection

The subject of data protection is personal data. Pursuant to Section 3 (1) of the German Federal Data Protection Act (FDPA) (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, “BDSG”), this is data concerning personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable individual vis a vis WBI Wallner und Brand Ingenieur­gesellschaft mbH GmbH (WBI).

Collection of personal data

Whenever a user accesses a page of our website and whenever a file is retrieved, data regarding this process is stored on our provider’s server in a log file.

The data collected varies depending on the activity and may include personal information such as first name and surname, title, profession, address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address or other contact information. These activities include:

  • Subscribing to an WBI newsletter
  • Application for a job at WBI
  • Requesting services or information
  • Replying to individual questions
  • Corresponding with WBI

Data use for a specific purpose

Personal data is stored and used exclusively for WBI’s own internal business operations as well as for the presentation, offering, optimisation and marketing of our services. We use your data to conduct transactions with you, conclude orders with you, provide services to you and invoice you, offer you continuous support, send you technical and company information such as invitations to events by post or e-mail and, in general, contact and communicate with you.

It may then be necessary to pass personal data onto third parties, normally companies, which are used to perform the aforementioned activities. Your personal data is not passed on to others for purposes other than those mentioned above without your express consent. Your data is only communicated to state institutions or authorities entitled to receive such information within the scope of the statutory obligations to furnish information or where we have been obliged to communicate it by court order. We take the protection and confidential handling of your data very seriously. Our employees as well as the service providers engaged by us have been obliged by us to comply with the provisions of data protection law.

They expressly guarantee that the communication of personal or business data (e-mail addresses, names, addresses, etc.) is voluntary.

Right to information and right of revocation

You are entitled, on request, to receive information free-of-charge about any data stored concerning yourself. In addition, in accordance with statutory provisions, you have the right to have that personal data corrected, blocked and deleted. You have the option at any time to terminate the receipt and dispatch of information and materials. Cookies

We also use cookies to collect and store usage data. These are small text files that are placed on your computer and used to store statistical information about your operating system, browser, IP address and previously accessed website (referrer URL), the date and time, etc.

We use the “Google Analytics” service to determine how visitors use our website. With regard to the use of Google Analytics, Google Inc. states the following:

Alternatively, you can set your Internet browser so that it does not execute JavaScript. However, if you do so, you may no longer be able to use certain functions of this website. Please check the steps necessary for this in the operating instructions of your Internet browser since the corresponding settings vary depending on the browser manufacturer.
